IHEANACHO CONTINUES GOOD SCORING FORM
Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho was able to continue his good scoring form for Leicester City against relegation threatened team West Brom when the two teams met at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.
Super Eagles of Nigeria star Iheanacho scored the third and final goal as the Foxes thrashed West Brom 3-0 at home with all the goals coming in the first half.
Leicester City are on a high after reaching their first FA Cup final for many decades and this was evident in their performance against the Baggies.
Nigeria striker Iheanacho was the recipient of the lone goal scored during the FA Cup semi-final clash with Southampton.His goal on ten minutes into the second half gave the Foxes a 1-0 win over the Saints and the ticket to the final to face Chelsea next month.
Iheanacho was on target for Leicester City against the Baggies in their latest meeting in the Premier League on Thursday night. He added a third goal in the first half after the experienced duo of Jamie Vardy and Jonny Evans had scored for the hosts.
Englishman Vardy was able to end his long drought in front of goal with the first goal of the game.Vardy had not scored for the last 12 matches before his opener against the Baggies.
Ex-Manchester United centre back Evans scored against his former club off a corner kick to double the Foxes’ lead before the third goal from Iheanacho wrapped up the game for the Foxes inside the first half.
With his goal against West Brom, Nigerian striker Iheanacho has now scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Foxes this season. He has nine goals in 19 matches for Leicester City this season.
The result against relegation threatened West Brom helped Leicester City move four points clear of West Ham United in fifth place in the race for Champions League football next season. Only the top four teams will qualify for the Champions League.
