PROUD NIGERIANS
The Nigerian midfielder Victor Moses has said that he is extremely proud to be a Nigerian. The Chelsea midfielder managed to lift the 2013 African cup of nations with the African team after they managed to win the final against Burkina Faso 1-0.
Nigeria had beaten the likes of Ivory Coast along the way to make it into the final. Despite having the players like John obi Mikel, the team had been performing badly when it comes to the final stages of a major tournament. However, they were finally able to get a major trophy under their belt. This is the first title lifted by Nigeria after 19 years, which made it extra special for Victor Moses.
Moses had the opportunity to represent the England national team, but he chose to play for Nigeria. He has said that he is extremely proud to be called the Nigerian, and he has dedicated the victory to all the Nigerians. The Nigerian national team manager, Stephen Keshi, meanwhile, said that he hopes that this victory proves to be the stepping stone in the forthcoming success for the nation. Nigeria alongside the likes of Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Cameroon are the biggest footballing nation in Africa due to the presence of several high profile players like John obi Mikel.
"[It's] one of [the] best days of my life this is a dream come true I'm so proud to be Nigerian. The win is for each and every one of [you] back home," said the Chelsea midfielder Victor Moses on his Twitter account. "We're not there yet. My plan was to build a good team for Nigeria when I came on board almost a year-and-a-half ago. Now we are on the path to building a great side," said Keshi after guiding his team to a major success.
